Offset printing: face: all images except for the intaglio ones. back: all images except for the serial numbers and tags formed of three vertical black lines along the bottom edge of the banknote.
Letterpress: back: serial numbers, tags formed of three vertical black lines along the bottom edge of the banknote.
Paper: under UV light, colorless fibers have red luminescence, light green fibers have green luminescence, dark blue fibers have no luminescence.
Design features: face: characters and fragments of "BANK OF CANADA 20 BANQUE DU CANADA" have red, yellow, and green luminescence.
Face: intaglio images are printed with two types of metameric inks, one of which absorbs IR waves and the other does not. As a result, when studying the images in the IR, only a part of the intaglio images appears.
Design features: back: inks used to print the two vertical tags near the bottom edge of the banknote have magnetic properties.
