Offset printing: face: all images except for the intaglio ones. back: all images except for serial numbers and tags formed of four vertical lines.
Letterpress printing: back: serial numbers and tags formed of four vertical lines.
Paper: transparent fibers have red luminescence under UV light; light green fibers have green luminescence; blue fibers have no luminescence.
Design features: face: transparent "BANK OF CANADA 5 BANQUE DU CANADA" has red, yellow, and green luminescence.
Face: dark blue intaglio images are printed with two types of metameric inks, one of which absorbs IR waves and the other does not. As a result, in the IR, only a fragment of the dark blue intaglio images is visible.
Back: two serial numbers are printed with metameric inks. In the IR, only the number on the right is visible.
Design features: back: the tag formed of three vertical lines in the lower left corner is printed with inks that have magnetic properties.
