Norway National Bank competition resulted in new “sea” currencies designs. In fact, instead of one winner, there are two of them: Snøhetta and The Metric System teams. The Metric Systems design was selected for obverse side of banknote, and Snøhetta received the reverse one.
Reverse side will be designed in abstract pixel image of the sea, which is not only the sophisticated design, but has a special meaning- various denominations correspond to different levels of Beaufort wind force scale (0- calm sea, 12- storm, was created in XIX century for sailing vessels). 50 kron note has a image of breeze, and 1000 kron note has picture of storm. All the images will be printed in high-definition.
This notes supposed to be entered in circulation in 2017.
