National Coin: UK Involving Public in New £1 Coin Design
The British government has decided to involve society in designing the new £1 coin. The public is offered to create a special image representing the essence of British lifestyle, mentality and outlook. The winner will get £10,000 and their artwork will be on the coin reverse to be issued in 2017. However, it's not the only coin feature.
Adam Lawrence, CEO of the Royal Mint, says: "We are thrilled to have the opportunity to support Her Majesty's Treasury and work on such an exciting project, which will not only modernise the current £1 coin for the first time in 30 years but also potentially change the way that coins are made in the future."

Danmarks Nationalbank Ceasing Banknote Production
